About
Beer Suggest is a niche community for beer lovers. The goal of Beer Suggest is to bring together beer enthusiasts to create a mixture of part social network, and part information resource. We hope to help you discover new beers through our personalized suggestions, news, and your friends. Below you will find the features of this website divided into two categories: Standard Features and Member Features. In order to access the Member Features you will need to register for an account.
Standard Features
Beer/Brewery Information
Beer Suggest stores a multitude of information on beers and breweries on the website. On a typical beer details page you will find normal information about the beer such as it's style, abv, photo, and a brief description. You will also find user generated tags, comments, reviews, and food pairings. Additionally you will find other examples of beer of the same style and be able to view other beers brewed by the same brewery. On the brewery pages you will find photos, contact information, maps, news, comments. The brewery page will also list all beers brewed by the brewery in a pleasant visual display.
Beer Places
Beer Suggest makes it simple to find bars, restaurants, home brew shops, and beer stores that are serving great craft beer. You can browse the places directory and drill down by country, state, and city in order to find places near you. Alternatively, you can use the Places Locator. The Places Locator allows you to quickly find beer places near you by specifying a full or partial address and a mile radius. This will give you a listing of all places within the specified radius, and will include how far they are away from the address you entered. Each beer place has it's own details page where you can read/post comments and reviews, get contact information, or browse the nearby area via a map.
Events
A calendar of upcoming beer events can be found in the events section. You can find any upcoming beer festivals, beer dinners, homebrew events, and much more. On the event details page you can get plenty of information about the event, view a map of the area, and see who else is attending the event.
News
In order to stay up to date with all of the latest craft brewery news Beer Suggest provides a news section that pulls stories from hundreds of brewery blogs, beer news sites, and other related sources. Below each story you will find a list of breweries mentioned in the article to help you find news on your favorite breweries.
Search
To help you find what you are looking for on Beer Suggest we provide two types of searching options. You can do a global search using the search box in the top right corner of every page, or use the various advanced search pages. The global search will find all matching beers, breweries, events, news, and users matching your query displaying them all in a tabbed interface. Alternatively you can use the advanced search for beers, breweries, and news to more accurately find exactly what you are searching for.
Mobile Website
In addition to the feature rich version of the Beer Suggest website, we also offer an optimized mobile version located at http://www.beersuggest.com/mobile/. The mobile version is a simplified version of the website to work better on your mobile device. It allows you to look up beers/breweries while on the go. You can read reviews and comments, get food pairings, and check out the top rated beers.

Every user will have their on statistics tab in their profile. Here you can view all of your ratings, reviews and more. Each stats page allows you to sort by any column and to search through your stats to find the one that you were looking for. The user stats area is constantly growing with different ways of looking at your data, so in the future there will be more pages to view. Currently you can view Quick Stats, Ratings, Reviews, Beer Styles, Favorites, and Events Attended. The Quick Stats gives you some quick information about your statistics, such as the number of beers rated, styles tried, etc. The Ratings stats let you view all of the beer you have rated. You specify a template and the message will automatically be posted to any social sites you have configured. Check out the screencast in the FAQ section for more information.
Personalized News
If you want to stay updated on just a few breweries you can create a customized news page. By specifying which breweries you would like to read news about a tab will be created in your profile that will filter news for just those breweries you have chosen.
Beer Cellar
Using the website you can keep track of all of the beers in your cellar. You simply choose a cellar date and add any notes. Your cellar will list all of the beers and their age. You can also add notifications so that you will get an email on a specified date. This way you can cellar it, then forget about it until it's ripe and ready to drink!
Personalized RSS Feeds
We provide you with three feeds that you can use on your personal blog or website. The feeds include your latest beer ratings, your latest beer reviews, and your top 10 rated beers. You can integrate these on your blog or website in order to let your visitors know what beer you have been trying lately, or what your favorite beers are.
