Description:

Stella Artois was first brewed as a Christmas beer in leuven. It was named Stella from the star of Christmas, and Artois after Sebastian Artois, founder of the brewery. It's brewed to perfection using the original Stella Artois yeast and the celebrated Saaz hops. It's the optimum premium lager, with it's full flavour and clean crisp taste.

Appearance - 4.0

Pours a clear golden color from the bottle into the glass. A small amount of head with a little lacing. The head dissapeared pretty quickly.

Aroma - 2.0

A little sweet malt aroma with a slight note of hops. At the beginning it had a skunky smell but after drinking about 1/4 I could make out the other aromas.

Mouthfeel - 3.0

Medium carbonation and feel.

Taste - 3.0

A clean crisp taste with a slight fruit taste on the very end followed by a metallic taste. Bitterness lingers after swallowing.

Overall - 4.0

Very drinkable, easy to throw back a few, but I wouldn't say it's the best that belgium has to offer. Just slightly above average.

Appearance - 3.5

Pours very clear and a very yellow colour. The white head leafing no trails as it dissipates.

Aroma - 2.5

A simple semi-sweet almost sour smell almost like that of a lemon.

Mouthfeel - 3.0

A clean light feeling feel to the mouth.

Taste - 2.5

A metallic taste follows you through the whole beer even after you finish it.

Overall - 2.5

Not bad for throwing back or helping keep refreshed in the summer but that's about all it's good for to me.
