Description:

Maudite has a deep amber-red color with a rocky foam head and an appealing aroma of wild spices and floral hop notes. It is spicy, vinous, and deliciously complex with a crisp hop finish.

The robust maltiness and spiciness of our
amber-red ale is counterbalanced by an
assertive hop finish, offering a distinctive
flavor that is cognac-like in complexity.

Appearance - 4.0

A sort of murky brown that is dark, root beer looking. An off-white head that disappears soon after the pour.

Aroma - 4.0

A sweet fruity and floral smell comes off this beer without being sickly sweet.

Mouthfeel - 3.5

A light feeling in the mouth till the carbonation bubbles up making the beer seem a bit more filling.

Taste - 3.5

A complex bitterness with a light fruity taste like that of an orange zest mixed with a peach.

Overall - 4.0

A very good complex beer that does leave a a slight warming sensation in your throat and chest partially from the complex bitter flavours that it has.

Appearance - 3.5

Pours 2 fingers of off-white head that fizzles down pretty quickly leaving a ring. It appears to have a lot of carbonation. It is dark copper in color.

Aroma - 4.0

A sweet aroma, mostly dark fruits like plums and grapes. Almost has a wine-like aroma.

Mouthfeel - 2.5

Light-medium bodied beer with a lot of carbonation.

Taste - 4.0

Slightly sour up front but balanced with some malts and a spiciness. Leaves a little alcohol warmth. It's hard to get a whole lot out of the taste, because of the strong carbonation sting that overpowers everything else.

Overall - 3.5

A pretty decent brew, but to me it is nothing extraordinary. It's worth checking out, but I wouldn't go out of your way to get it.
