Description:
Oatmeal Stout. The origins of Oatmeal Stout go back hundreds of years when oats were added to Stouts to promote a healthier image than other beers available during that time period.
The unique blend of the oats and malts in Alaskan Stout produce a balanced, smooth beer with hints of coffee and caramel.
Alaskan Stout is made from glacier-fed water and a generous belnd of European and Pacific Northwest hop varieties and premium two-row and specialty malts. Our water originates in the 1,500 square-mile Juneau Ice Field and the from the more than 90 inches of rainfall Juneau receives each year.

Appearance - 3.5
Pours 1 fingers worth of tan head that settles fairly quickly leaving some webbed lacing. It's a dark black that doesn't appear to let any light through, although there are some ruby highlights when held to the light.
Aroma - 3.0
Coffee, chocolate and roasted malts dominate the aroma.
Mouthfeel - 3.5
A medium-full bodied brew that feels nice and smooth. It's got a thicker feeling, but seems a little too thin and watery for the style.
Taste - 3.5
The roasted malts hit first followed by some chocolate. It finishes off with a bitter coffee flavor that slightly lingers after it goes down.
Overall - 3.5
A decent brew, it's not too heavy which ups it's drinkablity and has a decent mixture of flavors.
