Description:
We have added natural raspberry flavor to our UFO Hefeweizen to create this beer. Consistent with the hefeweizen style, this beer is unfiltered and cloudy with a solid foamy head. UFO Raspberry has a distinctive, hazy rose color. The scent of fresh raspberries hits the nose immediately, along with a subtle bready aroma from the wheat and yeast. The body is light and the unfiltered yeast provides a soft mouthfeel. The taste of the fruit compliments the beer nicely, neither overwhelms the other. There is a faint sweetness on the palate, which finishes cleanly in a semi-dry, tart finish.

Appearance - 3.5
The label states this is a raspberry hefeweizen. It pours 2 fingers of frothy white head with a hint of purple in the head. It had a decent retention, but doesn't really leave any lacing. The beer is a murky reddish-purple color.
Aroma - 4.0
A pleasant raspberry aroma dominates the nose.
Mouthfeel - 3.5
A light-bodied beer with moderate carbonation. It actually tastes less carbonated then I had expected.
Taste - 3.5
The best way I can describe this beer is that it has a raspberry flavored seltzer water taste. There is also tiny traces of some spices that you would expect in a traditional hefeweizen. It is light and crisp.
Overall - 3.0
A pretty decent beer, would make for a refreshing summer brew. I probably couldn't have more than one or two in one session though.
